Kate Middleton continued her coming-out tour in a historic way today, stepping out with the queen and Camilla for tea at luxury London department store Fortnum & Mason.

The three generations of royals were all smiles as they arrived at the 305-year-old store together in the queen’s Bentley to celebrate London’s Piccadilly shopping district, including the reopening of Fortnum & Mason’s restaurant, renamed The Diamond Jubilee Tea Station in honor of the queen’s 60 years on the throne.

The visit made history as the first time Middleton, 30, joined the queen for an engagement without her husband, Prince William, who is away on a six-week tour of duty in the Falkland Islands.

Kate Middleton and Prince William set to run Sport Relief 2012 mile

Date: January 23, 2012 | Category: Articles | ( 0 ) Comments

Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge are set to run the London Mile together for Sport Relief.

Organisers are in talks for the royal couple to join the fundraising event, with Wills having taken part in previous years.

The Prince, 29, and Kate, 30, are expected to run down The Mall near Buckingham Palace on March 25, while other miles will be run in major cities around the UK.

A source close to the event said: “We are in talks with the Prince’s representatives and understand he is eager to support the event, as he has done previously. We’re hopeful Kate will be able to do it too.

“It’s a huge honour to have the support of the Royal Family for this event, which raises millions of pounds for people in poverty in both the UK and abroad. We hope hundreds of thousands of Brits will follow in their footsteps to run a Sport Relief mile somewhere in the country to raise cash.”

Kate Middleton ‘moved to tears’ at War Horse premiere

Date: January 09, 2012 | Category: Articles, Videos | ( 0 ) Comments

The Duchess of Cambridge was moved to tears by the First World War epic War Horse at its premiere, according to the film’s director.

Steven Spielberg has revealed how his wife passed Kate Middleton a tissue during the film’s first showing in Central London last night.

Kate, who shared the red carpet with the film’s equine star, stole the show in an elegant floor-length black lace evening gown by Alice Temperley.

Spielberg told BBC Breakfast: “I was sitting next to her and all I know is at one point my wife, who was sitting to my right, right in front of my face she passed a Kleenex …

“I saw the Kleenex go across my face, arrive and stop but I didn’t want to intrude on her experience watching War Horse so I never glanced over.”

Gala premiere, then quiet 30th for Kate Middleton

Date: January 08, 2012 | Category: Articles | ( 0 ) Comments

After attending a gala film premiere in a full-length lacy evening gown, Kate Middleton stepped out of the public gaze Monday to celebrate her milestone 30th birthday in private.

She turned heads — and dominated Britain’s Monday morning front pages — by attending the London opening of Steven Spielberg’s “War Horse” wearing a striking design by Alice Temperley. Her husband, Prince William, used an umbrella to keep her glossy brown hair drizzle-free.

It was another star turn for Middleton, who has appeared ever more comfortable in public since joining the royal family in April.

Palace officials said the Duchess of Cambridge’s birthday celebration will be a “low-key and private” affair. The choice of a muted event seems appropriate: After all, the duchess is not just starting the fourth decade of her life — she is also embarking on her career as a future queen, charged with renovating a monarchy that has become somewhat creaky with age.

“She’s done very well, playing a very good supporting role to Prince William and complementing him as part of a team,” said Robert Jobson, author of “William and Kate: The Love Story.” ”We’ve not seen much of her, but when she’s in public she has performed with aplomb.”

Duchess of Cambridge announces charity patronages

Date: January 04, 2012 | Category: Articles | ( 0 ) Comments

The Duchess of Cambridge has become the patron of four charities.

She has accepted honorary positions with Action on Addiction, East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices, the Art Room and the National Portrait Gallery.

Kate will also become a volunteer in the Scout Association, mostly working near her North Wales home.

St James’s Palace said the choices reflected her interests in the arts, promotion of outdoor activity and supporting people in need of all ages.

“The duchess has chosen to support organisations that complement the charitable work already undertaken by her husband,” it added.

Supporting charities is an important role for members of the Royal Family as they can help promote the profile of good causes on to the national stage.

Kate to take emergency medical course in March

Date: January 01, 2012 | Category: Articles | ( 0 ) Comments

Compassionate Kate Middleton is to become a lifesaver after booking a place on a medical course as part of her commitment to help people in need.

She’ll be trained in emergency techniques like resuscitation as well as how to treat severe injuries including burns and cuts.

The Duchess of Cambridge, who turns 30 a week tomorrow, is due to begin the private course in March.

And it is the latest proof of her determination to use her status as Prince William’s bride to help the less fortunate.

Before getting married to Wills last April, Kate did volunteer work in Chile, joining environmental projects and helping to improve the lives of disadvantaged children.

And she has recently teamed up with her husband on visits to the homeless charity Centrepoint – once patronised by William’s mum Princess Diana.

She has also made a series of private visits to a number of unnamed UK charities which she insisted stayed “under the radar”.
